As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems across a range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems under the guidance of senior engineers
Perform system calculations using industry-standard design software
Produce high-quality construction drawings and technical documentation
Assist in creating technical reports and feasibility studies
Conduct field investigations and site assessments of existing systems
Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including ASHRAE
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Construction Engineering
3–10 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings
Experience in plumbing and fire protection systems design
EIT or PE license (or working toward licensure)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP)
Strong communication skills and ability to engage directly with clients
Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Based in Ames or Des Moines, IA, or Omaha, NE
