Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to join our project teams in designing and preparing electrical system construction documents for healthcare, higher education, and commercial building projects. This role involves leading the design of electrical systems, ensuring alignment with project budgets, client objectives, and interdisciplinary coordination.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a desire for organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical design and quality control for assigned projects, including electrical system calculations and layouts.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure seamless coordination of electrical designs.
- Maintain best practices in engineering methods and industry standards.
- Oversee and assist in producing design documents from concept through detailed design for new builds, renovations, and facility additions.
- Develop and review project specifications.
- Identify and implement cost-efficient solutions in electrical designs.
- Attend project coordination meetings with clients and owners.
- Conduct construction administration, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
- Mentor junior electrical designers to enhance team capabilities.
- Assist the director with quality assurance reviews on projects.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience:
- 3–5 years in the engineering field with expertise in electrical systems.
- Related experience in designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, or commercial buildings.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), energy codes, and industry standards.
- Project management experience is required.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related travel.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Experience with AGI32 is preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and multitask to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where the position is located without the need for sponsorship.
